Being a woman in our world brings challenges – we often find ourselves caught between expectations and ideologies that leave us unsure of who we are and the gifts that we can bring. The Old Testament Wisdom tradition speaks to these challenges and offers us a renewed vision of womanhood defined by strength, resilience, and creativity. Lady Wisdom, the feminine personification of the gift of wisdom, presents us with a vision of femininity that is divinely inspired and speaks directly to the gifts and vocation of women. In praying with and reflecting upon the words of Lady Wisdom, we can learn about the call of women to be “the breath of the might of God”. In this retreat, we will reflect upon and name our gifts, contemplate our own faith journeys, and learn more about our call to bear divine life in the world in bold and empowering ways.
